How we estimate

Each calculator adds sourced price ranges for the parts of a job and shows the total as a low to high range.

Which sources count

A number needs one first-hand source, such as a manufacturer price list or government data, or two established cost guides from different publishers. Forums, social media and AI summaries never count.

When sources disagree

We use the range where the sources overlap, not the highest or lowest figure, and we say so on the page.

What the calculator does

It starts from a base price range. Each option you pick adds its own range. Some options, like a higher cost area, scale the total. The result stays inside the overall range the sources support, and it is rounded so it does not look more exact than it is.

What it can't do

It can't see your home. Plumbing, wiring, stairs and local labor rates change real quotes. Get at least three written quotes before you buy.
